The protection of personal data is important to e-4motion. We are committed to respecting and protecting your privacy and therefore comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). Furthermore, we adhere to the following general principles of privacy and data protection:
- We limit the use and processing of personal data to the purposes for which we need the data;
- We process personal data only on a legal basis, including performance of a contract, our legitimate interest, or in certain circumstances for which we seek your express consent;
- We are transparent and clear about when, how and where we process personal data;
- We apply the principles of “privacy by design” (data protection by design and data protection) and “privacy by default” (data protection by default) and assess how existing or new products or services may affect the privacy rights of data subjects;
- We retain personal data no longer than strictly necessary and comply with all applicable data retention periods.
We ask that you read this privacy policy carefully. It contains important information about how we use your personal data (defined below) and transparently explains your legal rights (in accordance with applicable laws and regulations) if you visit our website www.e-4motion.com. Where we refer to “processing” personal data, we mean all uses of your personal data, such as collection, storage, modification, transmission and deletion.

What information do we collect about you?
For the purposes of this privacy policy, we use the term personal data to mean any information that allows us to identify you directly or indirectly (“personal data”).
Among other things, we collect the following personal data:
Your contact information and, if applicable, that of your emergency contacts Your name, mailing address and other contact information, such as your phone number and email address. We may also collect the contact information of your emergency and insurance contacts, including their name, cell phone number and email address.
- Automatically collected information. Technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, that we may collect by using cookies, web beacons and similar techniques on our website and in our apps to collect information about the use of our website or apps. Please see our Cookie Policy for more information.
- Information about how you use our (online) services (including scheduling test drives) or about your purchase of products. This includes data about the pages you visit and the products and services you like.
- Details about contests. The data we collect when you participate in any survey, contest, promotion or competition we organize at any time.
- Your reviews. The opinions, experiences, preferences and interests and reviews about products or events that you publish on our website or app or share with us online or through social media.
- Questions or complaints you share with us and other information we receive when we communicate with you via email, phone, online or social media.
To register your e-4motion bike to obtain factory warranty. For this purpose we record, among other things; name, address details, e-mail address, telephone number, frame number, frame size model name bicycle, any invoice details, date and other information regarding servicing if applicable.
Collecting your information and how we use it
We use the personal data collected for the following purposes:
- To carry out our agreement. To fulfill our obligations under an agreement between you and us and to provide you with the information and services you request (for example, to schedule an appointment for a test ride on one of our bikes), including handling your requests, questions or complaints. If it is possible to order products online, we process this data to manage and handle your purchases.
- For our legitimate commercial interests. We may use your personal information, such as your contact information, account and electronic identification information, (both on an aggregate and individual basis) to advertise our products and services and to contact you for marketing or other commercial purposes if you are an existing customer. We may also use your personal data to analyze and improve the quality of our products and services, and to understand you as a customer and provide you with a better user experience. This allows us to create personal profiles and assess what might interest you, understand or measure the effectiveness of advertising we provide, and provide relevant advertising.
We may also use your personal data for other legitimate commercial interests, such as generating aggregate statistics about the users of our services, contributing to security and fraud prevention, administering our website and apps, and for internal activities (including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes), system integrity purposes (e.g., preventing hacking, spam, etc.), letting you participate in interactive features of our services, facilitating our business operations, applying company policies and procedures, enabling us to conduct business activities, such as a merger, sale, divestiture, reorganization, transfer of assets or business, acquisition, bankruptcy or similar event, or for other legitimate business purposes permitted under applicable law.
- Use of information based on your (explicit) consent. We may use the personal data we refer to above in the subsection “Special Categories of Personal Data” (i.e., health data) for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Policy, but we will do so only after we have received your express consent to do so.
- Newsletter e-4motion. When you sign up for the newsletter, you give permission for the online newsletter to be sent to you at the email address provided. There is a link in every newsletter that allows you to unsubscribe from this if you wish. On average, you will receive the newsletter about once a month. If you’ve only recently subscribed, we’ll email you a little more frequently, among other things, to confirm to you that the subscription was successful, welcome you and ask what your interests are so we can tailor the newsletters to where your interests lie.
We may use your personal data for marketing communications (based on your profiles) via email, SMS or other electronic means, but we will only do so after we have received your consent to do so or if we have another legal basis to do so.
- To comply with our legal obligations. Any information referenced above in the section entitled “What Information Do We Collect About You?” may be used to maintain appropriate business records, to comply with legitimate requests by government agencies, and to comply with applicable laws and regulations or as otherwise required by law.
Collecting data on children:
We do not allow minors to register on our websites and/or apps. We require parental consent for children participating in our experiences and events.
Disclosure of your information
We may share your personal data with:
- Other group companies or affiliates of e-4motion in the context of providing our products and services or for internal purposes such as IT.
- External service providers who provide services to us such as website hosting, data analysis, payment processing, order processing, information technology and related infrastructure provision, customer service, email delivery, CRM, event management, marketing intelligence, auditing, fraud detection and other third-party services.
- Third parties for which this is permitted, provided you have consented or requested it, for example, to send you marketing communications in accordance with your wishes if you have consented to sharing for this purpose.
- Other parties with whom we believe it is necessary to share data in order to comply with applicable laws, respond to agency requests or for other legal reasons and to protect our rights.
- In addition, we may use or disclose your personal data in the event of a reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture or other disposition of all or part of our business, operations, assets or stock.
Other websites
Our website may sometimes contain links to and from third-party websites, e.g. the websites of our partner networks (such as the retailers who sell our products), social media networks, advertisers and affiliates. Please note that if you follow a link to any of these websites, the website in question has its own privacy policy and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for that website or its content. Please consult the relevant third party’s privacy policy before sharing personal data with such a website.
Dealers
Customers purchase our products and services directly through us or through authorized dealers and other resellers. These dealers and resellers are independent data controllers. We are not responsible for how authorized dealers and other resellers handle customer data. If dealers and resellers provide your personal data to us in connection with the sale of our products and services (e.g., in connection with warranty), they do so under their own responsibility; please read the applicable privacy statements of those parties for more information.
If you make a test ride request through our website, we will share your name, phone number and email address and your specific bike test ride preference with your chosen dealer in order to process your test ride request, perform the test ride and inform you about it. The basis for processing your personal data for the above purpose is performance of the agreement or the consent given by you.
Transfer of your personal data outside the EEA
We store your data within the European Economic Area (EEA) or in countries that have received an adequacy decision from the European Commission. If we share your information with companies located (i) outside the EEA or (ii) In countries for which no adequacy decision has been granted, we agree with the recipient party the model contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and ensure that additional safeguards are applied where necessary.
How long do we keep personal data?
We process your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes for which we collected it, unless a longer period is necessary to:
- comply with a statutory retention period or other applicable legal requirement;
- Process your personal data in connection with legal proceedings.
To ensure that your personal data is deleted within a reasonable period of time, we work with retention periods for the different countries.
How do we secure customer data?
We are committed to protecting your personal information. We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure that your personal data is properly secured against unauthorized or unlawful use, access, disclosure or accidental or unlawful destruction or loss.
